The meaning of human hair
In my childhood memories, I always had hair, just like we were born with hands and feet. I have never considered why this is, nor did I consider what it means to us. Later I found out that there were a lot of hair loss people, they were troubled by the hair, they used the human hair bundles to use the lace wigs, they tried their best to make themselves look more natural. From that time I began to think about it, the hair for us, in addition to making us look more beautiful. Any other meaning?
Humans actually have very few hairs compared to most mammals. Most of our bodies are covered with inactive hair follicles that were left in the past when we still had fur coats. However, we still have a lot of thick hair on our heads.
First, we need to figure out why we have so much hair on our heads. I have read an article before and there are some interesting guesses. The article says that hair is to be useful in keeping the body warm. It is assumed that evolution is not affected by the trimming and styling of hair for centuries. Therefore, whether male or female, the most natural hairstyle should be to hang down their backs - probably reaching about the middle of our backs on average. But for us now, too long hair will cause some trouble for our life and work, and long hair is very difficult to fight.
But for any evolution of features like this, it must be useful at some stage. We guess there may be several reasons:
1. When humans begin to walk upright, our heads and shoulders are more likely to be exposed to the sun. Long hair can, of course, prevent sun exposure.
2. Human beings are social animals. How we get along with others is an important aspect of our species, which may have existed before civilization emerged. Today, in the history of records, the hairstyle has always been a very important factor in our lives. They are used to express status and health. Hairstyles have been used to express a sense of belonging to the class. As early as the 16th century, wigs became popular as a means of making up for hair loss or improving their personal image. Nowadays, various styles of lace front wigs are very popular, which also shows people's attention to hair.
3. Like the horsetail, human hair can also be used to drive away mosquitoes, flies or other invaders. This is because our back is the only place we can't easily reach with our hands.
