Ways To Remove Hair Dye

There's nothing like dying your hair to make you feel refreshed and achieve your bomb hairstyle. New hair color can have a wonderful effect on your confidence level, though not always. Sometimes, this can mean disaster. A color may look great on the package, but once you use it, the reaction can range from "oh my god" to severe depression. Fortunately, there are several ways to remove dye from your hair. Remember, these work best if you try them right after you dye your hair, and they work best for semi-permanent or demi-permanent dyes.

1. Dish Soap. Dish soap is used to break down the oil on your plate, and it can also act on your hair, so if you try this, beware of desert-dry hair. Luckily, if you use this dry soap on your colored hair, it can actually help remove unwanted colors. You need to wash it many, many times before it fades, but if you really want to get rid of color, this is definitely a step in the right direction. Some people add baking soda to their dish soap to increase the effect. I haven't had much success with this personally, but who knows what might suit your hair!

2. Vitamin C Method. If you use semi-permanent hair dye to make your hair a darker color after only a few days, try this method. Pour a pile of vitamin C tablets into a bowl, add hot water, and crush with a spoon into a thick paste. Be sure to apply it to wet hair, not dry hair. Vitamin C penetrates best when your hair is wet. After applying the paste, wear a shower cap or wrap your hair in plastic. Let the paste sit for an hour. Rinse the paste thoroughly and then shampoo your dyed hair as usual. Just take a vitamin C supplement within a few days of dying your hair and you'll see a noticeable effect.

3. Use Anti-dandruff Shampoo. Anti-dandruff shampoos are stronger than regular shampoos, which contain a higher percentage of sebum. So, shampoo your hair 7-8 times every 2-3 days to lighten the color with anti-dandruff. You can mix some baking powder into the anti-dandruff shampoo to make it work faster.

4. Colour Remover. For best results when to use color remover on direct dyes, and thoroughly wash your hair with shampoo or dandruff remover (just make sure it's not a two-in-one). Your hair should be clean. Apply the color remover to dry, untreated hair and apply it to the hair to ensure complete coverage. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap, stay in a warm place, and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Do not heat, but stay away from the cold wind, which will reduce the effect of the color remover. Keep in mind to wash your hair very thoroughly to get the loose color molecules out of your hair. It's best to spend 30 minutes repeatedly washing your hair. Wash your hair 5-7 times and rinse thoroughly. Then use a deep conditioner.
